FRANCE

The French have a rich diet which had led them to a healthy eating habit. To start off with a Petit Déjeuner, small breakfast, which consist of French Bread (farmhouse bread) with jam and butter and sometimes croissants accompanied by a cut of black coffee. Traditionally the French had never took lunch 'lightly', they usually consume 60% of their calorie intake before 2pm. French lunch and dinner consist of four parts,

- L'entrée (usually a salad)

- Le plat principal (meat, vegetables and grains cooked made the 'French way')

- Le fromage (usually cheese)

- Le dessert (usually cakes and ice creams)

Portions vary as they have big lunches and light dinners. This diet has kept only 8% of the French qualify as obese, compared to 33% of Americans

French people try to find as many occasions as possible to spend some time at the table, with their family and friends to enjoy the taste and flavour of good food and drinks. What may appear surprising is the fact that France's reputation for food is not based on long-term traditions but rather on constant change. With their inspirations of creating fabulous new tastes and bringing new cuisines to the world.

 

JAPAN

Many wonder why Japanese women and men live longer and healthier than anyone else on earth. They do this with their traditional diet with the staple foods; rice, soy products, fish, sea vegetables and fruits. These foods have low calories and is high in nutritional value. On top of that, Japanese people enjoy the No. 1 lowest obesity rate in the developed world with 3%. Meals in Japan are served in very small portions with a wide range of food giving everything your body need.

A typical Japanese breakfast consist of a bowl of rice with miso soup and natto (fermented soybeans) and/or a piece of fish. Lunch is also based on rice but with the addition of vegetables, fruits and snacks. The student life of Japan usually have an obento (packed lunch) everyday and is made up of rice balls with vegetables and fruits or maybe some tempura and decorated well. A custom of Japan is that school up to high school ask the parents to make a healthy obento for their children everyday as to show the love of a parent and is how they have maintained this diet till today. A Japanese dinner consist of a variety of foods, but also based on rice. one is the delicious sushi which consist of seaweed, rice, fish, vegetables or sometimes chicken.

Japan has successfully introduced to the world of their traditonal eating habbits with their delicious cuisines and lifestyle.

   

ITALY

The Italian life style is built on the passion for flavour, enjoying good food and looking gorgeous. Most Italians strive to cut the una bella figura (a fine figure) and are careful, but not obsessive, about what they eat. The sight of an obese Italian is rare.

A typical Italian breakfast is quite the similar to the French way. A small breakfast with some pastry, croissants etc. and a cup of cappuccino or just a cup of fruit shake or yogurt. Lunch is typically the biggest meal of the day. Many courses are served over a period of time. They take three hour lunches, eat pasta at most every meal and maintain gorgeous figures.

Dinner is served very late. Most restaurants close after lunch and reopen at 8 p.m. The typical family dinner is still a tradition throughout Italy. Lighter than lunch, dinner will usually consist of a pasta dish and at least two vegetables. Meat is consumed only a few times per month and may be made into a ragù sauce.

The Italian diet also happens to be one of the healthiest in the world; incorporating fresh, wholesome foods that are rich in nutrients and low in unhealthy fats. Consisting on pastas, wholegrains, fruits, vegetables and dairy products.

KOREA

Korean has the diet of kimchi (pickled cabbage). Their meals are always accompanied by many side dishes, not just kimchi but many other vegetables. Such as kelp, potatoes and bean sprouts. Main courses in Korean cuisines are from hot pots to various noodle and rices which can be served hot and chilled and cooked in a variety of flavours from spicy to sweet. But a bowl of plain rice is also a staple food of korea.

A typical korean breakfast is a bowl of rice with a soup, side dishes and maybe some fish or eggs. You can never get bored of eating the same thing over and over again as the variety of side dishes in Korea is uncountable as you could use any vegetables to accompany Korean flavourings. A Korean lunch can have a numerous of choices from rice and noodles as there are so many ways of cooking those two foods in Korea and also the addition of kimchi and side dishes. A tradtional Korean noodle cuisine is Rabokki (Stir Fried Rice Cake and Noodles). Rice cakes is a very common cultural food which is added to many cuisines. Dinner in Korea is not very different to lunch but portions may vary.

Korean cuisines are all about flavour, aroma and colour which gives you a good appetite and accompanied by spiced flavourings and light and healthy side dishes.
